A fantastic display over the Alantic Ocean, Finland and Baffin Island.

These pictures were taken on a flight at 34,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean on a commercial flight.

By luck, our flight was delayed by 5 hours which turned a daytime flight into a nightime one. Also our pre-assigned aisle seat was changed into a window seat on the North side of the aeroplane.

The display varied throughout the flight. The biggest problem was keeping the camera still for 30 seconds with no tripod, whilst blocking out all the light from the cabin, and of course problems with turbulance, vibration, the small field of view from the window and the aeroplane heading.

Pictures taken with a Sony F707 Digital Camera. It takes good shots, and has a special noise reduction system. Exposures 30 seconds, f2.0.

Temperature was a warm +20C inside and -68F outside.
