20th April 2002

A fantastic display in the Rocky Mountains to the West of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
After many aurora's but cloudy skies, this was the first strong aurora for while. Clear skies, plus the rare pulsing aurora, all made it unique.

This is an experiment with a Sony F707 Digital Camera. It takes good shots, and has a special noise reduction system. Exposures 30 seconds, f2.0.

Temperature was about -5C. Some of the pictures show the Moon and Jupiter.

Photos were taken at Sibbald Creek, Lac Des Arcs and Canmore.

You can be alerted for free an hour in advance of an Aurora Borealis occuring at your location with ADEC.
