31st October 2001 - Halloween

A fantastic display on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
After the Halloween festivities, I took flight to the mountains armed with a pumpkin. No ghouls spotted, just a full moon and spooky aurora. Pictures taken at Sibbald Creek.
This year is going to be a great year for Aurora. These were all taken with a tripod and long exposure (30 seconds) on a Pentax LX SLR Camera. Film: Fuji Pro NHG II ASA 800. 28mm lens, f2.8. Developing was push processed by one stop.

You can be alerted for free an hour in advance of an Aurora Borealis occuring at your location with ADEC.
